Delta Cargo appoints general manager of cargo operations

Delta Cargo has appointed Erik Mayer as a general manager of cargo operations. 

The company said in a LinkedIn post: “Erik has an extensive background in warehouse operations, logistics, freighter operations and project management, as well as airport operations and above-wing customer service.”

Mayer’s LinkedIn profile shows that he has been in his new role since April. He has over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He previously spent over 10 years working for Lufthansa Cargo, both as a gateway handling manager in Los Angeles and a warehouse and aircraft handling manager in Mexico.

Prior to that he was a project manager for DHL for 15 months and spent over 15 years working for British Airways in various roles.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Delta is a member of the SkyTeam Cargo global alliance and participates in joint venture partnerships with Air France-KLM Cargo, Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Aeromexico Cargo, and in cooperation with Korean Air Cargo.
