Emmert to head Frankfurt Cargo Services

Hans-Georg Emmert has been appointed managing director of Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS), following Worldwide Flight Services’ (WFS) acquisition of a 51% shareholding in the cargo handler.
WFS, handling 4m tonnes of cargo last year and with annual revenues of €750m, signed an agreement in July 2015 with FCS parent Fraport to buy the FCS majority stake, a deal that saw its formal completion in early November.
In a statement announcing Emmert’s appointment, the two companies said: “With this decision WFS once more emphasises its general policy to run all stations abroad by a local management who is familiar with practices and people of the country.
“Since the establishment of FCS, Hans-Georg Emmert had the long-term position as head of sales and marketing. Before joining Fraport and FCS he gained substantial experience by working for an airline in the field of operations."
Said Emmert: “I am more than honoured by this appointment, and I will do my utmost to push forward the development of the new company emerging from the strategic partnership of WFS and Fraport.
“We want our customers to benefit from our new situation within a global network, and we will continue with our high performance and service which also complies with the main targets of WFS.”
The statement also expressed “special thanks” to Andreas Helfer, the previous head of FCS.
