Ex-Delta cargo boss Neel Jones Shah joins the Amerijet board

Ex-Delta cargo boss Neel Jones Shah has been appointed to the board of managers at the parent group of Amerijet, the Miami based scheduled freighter operator.
Shah’s appointment, “to help the company fulfil its strategic growth objectives and operational goals” follows  a change of ownership at Amerijet in the summer of this  year.
Global private equity investment firm H.I.G. Capital sold Amerijet Holdings in July to an affiliate of ZS Fund, a middle market focused private equity firm.
Amerijet International is an all-cargo air carrier, operating Boeing 767 and Boeing 727 aircraft from its primary hub at Miami International Airport to destinations throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and South America.
Amerijet said: “Shah is a recognised leader in the global air cargo industry, with over 14 years of experience working for United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, most recently as senior vice president and chief cargo officer of Delta.
“While at Delta, Neel led the integration of the two cargo divisions when Delta acquired Northwest Airlines and grew global cargo revenues to over $1bn.
“During his tenure, Neel helped shape the air cargo industry through his participation on many boards including IATA, TIACA, CNS and A4A.”
Since leaving Delta in 2012, Shah has remained active in the industry through his consulting firm, JS Aviation Consulting, and his work with the Boston Consulting Group as a senior advisor.
Said Shah: "I am very excited and honored to be joining the Board of Amerijet, which is a very well respected air cargo carrier.
“Under the leadership of the company’s chief executive, Vic Karjian, and the rest of the management team, Amerijet has immense potential to grow in both its current and new markets.”
