Robert Fordree is set to step down from his role as executive vice president for cargo at handler Menzies Aviation.

Fordree has worked in the air cargo industry since 1990 and has been in his current role at the handler since June 2019 but is now moving on to a position at an airline.

“Robert Fordree has decided to move on from Menzies Aviation to join an airline,” the handler said in a statement. “Cargo remains a key focus for our business and we have bold plans to accelerate growth even further.”

The handler did not name which airline Fordree would join, although the Loadstar reports that he is heading back to the Middle East – he previously worked for Etihad for nine years – to head up Emirates SkyCargo’s cargo handling business.

Menzies Aviation has been ramping up its focus on cargo over recent years as it looks to diversify its business.

Earlier this year, the company expanded its presence at Chicago RFD as it focussed on developing at secondary airports.
