IAG Cargo is recruiting more than 60 digital and IT roles as the company looks to enhance its digital offering.
The recruitment drive will more than double the size of the cargo businesses’ IT team.
David Walker, chief digital and information officer, IAG Cargo, said: “This is an exciting time at IAG Cargo as we continue to advance our digital capabilities whilst progressing on our cloud journey. We are witnessing a growing customer adoption of digital booking services across our global network, highlighting the importance of our technological advancements.
“With the growth of our technology team, we are looking for people who want to work in a fast-moving and empowering environment, dedicated to continually ensuring we enhance our customers’ experience.”
The company said that it is moving towards a “cloud-first approach” to improve data accessibility, scalability, and flexibility.
“New and emerging technologies will play a crucial role in improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and promoting sustainability,” the company said.
IAG pointed out that it already utilises various digital technologies and tools to streamline operations.
For example, its new cargo handling facility at London Heathrow has had bespoke IT system upgrades and integrations to optimise how freight is moved and allocated within the facility.
It is also working towards 100% electronic air waybill adoption.
