Lufthansa Cargo has appointed Elodie Berthonneau as vice president of Asia Pacific from October 1.

Based in Singapore, Berthonneau will head up the sales and handling organisation in Asia Pacific. This includes China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Oceania.

Berthonneau joins Lufthansa Cargo from Qatar Cargo where she was vice president of network planning and strategic partnership.

With more than 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, Berthonneau has held various management positions in sales, pricing, profit management and strategic planning at Qatar Airways and Air France KLM.

Her previous roles have included building start-ups, restructuring organizations, network redesign, major strategic partnerships and people management. Having worked in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, she also has broad international experience.

“We are happy to welcome Elodie Berthonneau as head of Asia Pacific,” said Anand Kulkarni, head of global markets at Lufthansa Cargo. “The Asian region is one of our most important markets and is expected to become even more relevant in the coming years. Combining her expertise and experience within the industry and the Lufthansa Cargo brand and knowledge, she will set new accents in our Asia Pacific organization and in the dialogue with our customers.”

Berthonneau takes over from J. Florian Pfaff.

In July, Lufthansa Cargo appointed Anand Kulkarni to the newly created role of head of global markets to lead digital and regional sales.
