Maersk has appointed Juliano Martins as head of airfreight – east coast of South America.

São Paulo-based Martins confirmed in a LinkedIn post that he began the role this month.

He previously spent 13 years at Brazilian airline Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras. Most recently, he was head of international cargo sales at the airline.

Before joining Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, his experience in the air cargo industry included working as a cargo executive at LATAM Airlines.

Maersk has been growing its Maersk Air Cargo business since its launch last year. Just this month, the shipping company inaugurated a new airfreight gateway near Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport (ATL).
