Magma promotes Brannigan to CEO

Freighter firm Magma Aviation has promoted Conor Brannigan to chief executive as current incumbent Ross Wilson moves to the role of strategic advisor to the company’s board of directors.

Brannigan joined the company in July of this in a deputy chief executive role while Wilson has worked for Magma since it launched in 2010.

Brannigan previously worked for two years at Cargolux where he was director strategic alliances and market development.

He also spent almost six years at Etihad in a global cargo position and began his career in aviation at Aer Lingus where he progressed to cargo business analyst.

Brannigan said: “The commitment and dedication from the amazing people we have here at Magma Aviation, has enabled the company to grow from strength to strength, and navigate the extremely complex environment the pandemic has created.

“We will continue to provide strategic solutions for our key customers and partners while increasing our efficiencies and leveraging group synergies across our business.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Magma Aviation for making me feel most welcome from day one, and particularity my thanks to Ross Wilson, Tom Wrigley and Tom Helyar for their leadership and guidance.

“I would also like to pass on my congratulations to Tom Helyar, Magma Aviation chief strategy officer on his appointment to the Magma Board of Directors.”

The company recently added a fifth freighter to its line up.
