Digital payment platform PayCargo has appointed Christian Dornhaus into the role of managing director Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia (EMEIA), as it continues its global expansion.

Dornhaus, who has more than 20 years of experience in the logistics and freight industries, previously held the position of vice president of sales Europe at UPS company Coyoten and prior to that, he held senior roles at FedEx, Panalpina, Bolloré and Dachser.

In his new role, Dornhaus will be based in Madrid, Spain, and he will oversee the delivery of PayCargo’s solutions across EMEIA.

Dornhaus commented: “This is an exciting time to be joining PayCargo’s leadership team as we witness a huge uptick in adoption of digitalisation across the freight industry, which is supporting our platform’s rapid global growth.

“Companies across the EMEIA region are increasingly seeing the value of adopting modern digital solutions that enable efficient, sustainable operations, and with our scalable platform, we are able to support them to achieve just that.”

Eduardo Del Riego, global chief executive at PayCargo, added: “We have seen continuous growth in users and are currently on track to process $10bn of freight-related payments; a 250% increase from 2020.

“We envision a substantial portion of our future growth to come from the EMEIA region under Christian’s leadership.

“His hands-on local market knowledge, experience, and network will undoubtedly enable us to expedite this objective, and strengthen our commitment to providing digital payment solutions that add efficiency and transparency to the global supply chain.”
