Freight forwarding platform Raft has appointed Rod Talbot as vice president sales, Asia, to help increase its presence in the Asia Pacific region.

Talbot has over 25 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management.

He was previously managing director, Asia, at global freight forwarding software platform provider, WiseTech Global.

“Raft is expanding its global presence and Rod represents a tremendous asset to our team given his experience within Asia Pacific, which is an exciting market for us,” said Lionel van der Walt, chief growth officer, Raft.

“He has considerable experience in implementing cloud-based solutions and delivering streamlined and efficient supply chain value.”

Talbot added: “Digitisation is at the forefront of the air cargo industry, as forwarders are recognising the substantial benefits of using technology to address the expensive and time-consuming challenges they face.

“In my new role, I look forward to using my knowledge of the market to help forwarders across Asia improve their performance and increase their productivity by using innovative digital solutions.”

Raft is designed to automate and provide actionable visibility for accounts payable, arrival notice, pre-alerts, and customs clearance workflow.
