Reports: Flexport CFO out?

Flexport has reportedly ousted its chief financial officer Kenneth Wagers only weeks after chief executive Dave Clark made a sudden exit from the firm.

This is according to media reports from The Wall Street Journal and other publications.

Wagers took up the role in 2021 and was tasked with defining Flexport’s financial strategy and how to derive maximum value from its platform and logistics services.

Flexport has not issued a statement to confirm Wagers’ employment status, and Wagers currently has the role with Flexport listed on his LinkedIn profile.

Air Cargo News has contacted Flexport for clarification on the matter.

Earlier this month, ex Amazon executive Clark, who had only been in the Flexport chief executive job since September 2022, left his role, with Ryan Petersen stepping back in to run the company.

Announcing his departure in a social media post, Clark said that Petersen had changed his mind on the company’s direction, while Petersen later said changes are needed within Flexport to sustain growth and return to profitability.

A day later the firm said it was rescinding job offers for more than 75 people after they were offered positions during a hiring freeze.

Formerly head of finance for Amazon Worldwide Transportation and Logistics, Wagers oversaw the finance programme of Amazon’s trade logistics services, including Prime Now.

He previously held executive and leadership positions at Fleetpride, XPO Logistics, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and UPS.
