Swissport announces head of cargo Belgium

Swissport has appointed Koen Gouweloose into the role of head of cargo Belgium, effective from July 1.

Gouweloose joined Swissport in March 2020 as chief operating officer. In his new role, he will oversee the strategic and operational management of the company’s cargo activities, both in Brussels and Liège. In particular, he will focus on navigating the business through its post Covid-19 recovery phase.

Gouweloose has held several senior management positions throughout his career, including sales and marketing director and operations director Belux at DHL International, and managing director Benelux – France, at DHL Aviation.

Swissport has also named Houssein Ouchen as manager of cargo operations at Liège Airport.

Willy Ruf, senior vice president, Central and Eastern Europe at Swissport, commented: “Gouweloose can build on many years of relevant professional experience in international airfreight management and is very familiar with the different stakeholders in Belgium. Together with Houssein Ouchen and brussels station manager Ile de Nutte, Gouweloose is tasked with further developing and growing our thriving cargo business in Brussels and Liège.”
