TIACA begins its search for a new director general

TIACA has commenced its search for the newly-created role of director general. Applications for the position can be submitted, by email to its Selection Committee, from July 14 to August 21.

Currently CĂ©line Hourcade is heading the association as its transition director.

The director general will act as chief executive of the association while leading it to realise its vision of a “safe, profitable and united” air cargo industry that “embraces modern technologies and practices to sustainably and fairly serve trade and social development”.

TIACA said that the successful applicant will: report to the TIACA board; lead financial and operational management at the association’s head office in Miami, US; plan and execute TIACA’s new strategy; and deliver the association’s projects and programmes.

The company said in a statement: “TIACA is looking for a strong operational leader who has a proven track record for motivating and managing effective teams and has excellent networking skills. The new director general is not required to be based in Miami, but must be willing to commit substantial time onsite at the headquarter office.”

Steven Polmans (pictured), TIACA’s chairman, added: “Once its transformation is complete, the new TIACA will be a more agile association, able to respond to industry needs.

“TIACA will need a strong and equally agile leader to raise its profile, expand and deliver the new agenda to increase member satisfaction.

“I am confident, with the right person in charge, the association will be able to represent the interests of the whole air cargo community with strong industry programmes, effective global and regional partnerships and expanded membership base.”
