Jacobs joins CHEP Aerospace Solutions

Don Jacobs will join ULD outsourcing specialist CHEP Aerospace Solutions as director, sales, marketing and key account management from October.
Jacobs brings over 25 years of international experience and has held roles with Deutsche Post, DHL Express, DHL Global Mail, Aberdeen Airport, and most recently as sales director with Jettainer, a rival outsourced ULD company owned by the Lufthansa Cargo group.
David Harman, presently director, sales, marketing and key account management with CHEP Aerospace Solutions, will move into a new role focused on customer on-boarding and leading the development of new solutions, such as catering galley cart asset management.
A spokesperson for Jettainer said: "Jettainer is currently in final talks with appropriate candidates for the vacant position of a sales director. As the position as well as the level of quality of Jettainer requires a highly experienced, full-blooded airline personality, we will take the necessary time to find a candidate with a 100% fit.
"In the meanwhile, our highly skilled and experienced management and sales teams keep running the Jettainer business as usual. In the current situation, we feel that we have hired the right people with an airline and airfreight background, to take action and responsibility while the sales director’s position is open."
CHEP Aerospace Solutions, part of the Australian Brambles group, was set up five years ago and currently partners over 80 airlines including Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airways, Cargolux, Cathay Pacific, Hawaiian Airlines, KLM, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines.
It has worked closely to develop a portfolio of solutions including full ULD pooling and management, asset tracking – including the CanTrackTM system, 3rd party MRO operations for galley carts and ULDs, all of which are available to both major passenger and all-cargo carriers, alongside smaller regional and leisure airlines.
