Jan de Rijk acquires automotive logistics specialist De Rooy

Airfreight road feeder service provider Jan de Rijk has made another acquisition, this time taking over truck and tractor transport specialist De Rooy for an undisclosed sum.
Jan de Rijk said its latest acquisition was a specialist in transport, warehousing and value added logistics for the parts and the automotive industry, which suited its own portfolio.
"The acquisition offers Jan de Rijk Logistics an expansion of the existing services and the combined activities within the group will be continued and further expanded," the firm said.
"For Jan de Rijk Logistics this takeover means an important reinforcement of the logistic ‘automotive’ activities and creates a basis for further expansion."
The possibility of the deal going ahead was first announced in October last year and follows on from Jan de Rijk’s swoop for Omega Logistics in September.
Omega offers a temperature controlled distribution network to pharmacies, hospitals, patients and other healthcare facilities
