Jettainer think-a-thon in Shanghai

Outsourced ULD manager Jettainer has launched a three-day Think-A-Thon at the start of Transport Logistic China in Shanghai.
Together with 25 logistics students from Tongji University, the Lufthansa Cargo subsidiary is going about a thinking marathon.  The aim is to search directly on the international industry platform for new approaches for the application of blockchain technology in global supply chains.
The students will work on various questions in five groups and develop and elaborate ideas directly at the fair in exchange with various exhibitors. The results will be pitched to the trade audience on the last day of the fair.
"Blockchain technology is predestined to optimize processes along the supply chain. We are still at the beginning, but it is already extremely exciting. We hope that the cooperation with the students will give us a fresh look and many creative ideas that will help us to develop concrete applications," said Carsten Hernig, managing director of Jettainer.
Jettainer has already developed a Big Data-based decision support system, a technology that learns independently and thus helps to increase the efficiency of ULD management. The "ULD Black Box", which turns air freight containers into "smart UILDs", will also be presented at the trade fair in China.
