Delta ups package weight and size limit for door-to-door cargo service

Delta Cargo has expanded its pick-up and delivery service allowing customers to ship larger and heavier items.

Its DASH delivery service is run in partnership with same-day delivery company Roadie and will now be expanded to include DASH Heavy.

Delta and Roadie’s delivery partnership, DASH Door-to-Door, pairs TSA-approved drivers with cargo incoming from cargo flights to offer a door-to-door service for shipments sent within the US.

The airline said that advantages of the service include end-to-end tracking of the shipment and real-time status updates.

Shawn Cole, vice president of Delta Cargo, commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for businesses to further benefit from DASH Door-to-Door by shipping large items and making nationwide expansion a reality.

“We’re always looking for ways to enhance product offerings and make life easier for our customers.”

Prior to the DASH Door-to-Door, Delta and Roadie initially started working together in 2015 to deliver delayed passenger luggage.
