Time:matters enjoys successful year

time:matters, the specialist in time-critical logistics that forms part of the Lufthansa Cargo Group, enjoyed an 8% increase in revenue last year compared to 2015, making a turnover of 64 million euros.
That result built on the success of 2014, when revenue had grown by 10% over 2013.
Time:matters’ international business did particularly well last year. According to a statement: “The ongoing expansion of the time:matters Sameday network proved a major factor in the growth in the European market.
“Well-known national airlines in Italy, Turkey, the Netherlands and France have been integrated into the time:matters Sameday network.”
Another source of profitable business was found in the development of dedicated offerings within specific industry segments, such as the automotive and aviation industries.
Such specialised services might include the company providing on-board couriers to guarantee speedy and reliable delivery.
Time:matters’ healthcare business also secured a significant increase in revenue its medical on-board courier service now also directly serving customers in the US, Australia and New Zealand.
The digitisation of shipping processes was a key element of the corporate strategy during 2015 and the new ‘time:matters online’ booking portal was introduced in May last year. The time:matters on-board courier platform was then launched in late 2015.
Franz-Joseph Miller, time:matters managing director, commented: “The significant growth in recent years is the result of clearly and strategically positioning ourselves as an expert in same day delivery and special speed logistics.
“We will continue to incorporate further airlines and partners into our network in 2016.
“Besides this, we will develop specific industry solutions and advance our integrated web-based transport platform – always adapted to the needs of our customers,” Miller concluded.
In other news, time: matters extended its Sameday Air network to and from Portugal today (26 April).
More than 40 TAP Air Portugal weekly direct services are now available on the time:matters network between Lisbon and Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna.
A time: matters statement noted that it can now transport shipments door to door from Lisbon to Vienna in less than six hours.
Prague and other stations are also expected to soon be integrated into the Sameday network.
