Exelsius and IAG announce sixth GDP workshop

IAG Cargo and Exelsius have announced that their sixth GDP Academy workshop will be held in London on October 2-3.

The Good Distribution Practice Academy combines classroom training in the correct handling of temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products, with a ‘live’ visit to an airport airside area.

Students will be able to witness the handling process at the Constant Climate Centre Heathrow, as part of their certificated training in the correct handling of temperature-sensitive Pharmaceutical and Life Science products.

The course will be of particular importance to those forwarders, handlers or transport operators applying for a Wholesaler Dealer Authorisation (WDA) from the UKMHRA and those designated as ‘Responsible Persons’.

In a joint statement, Alan Dorling, Global Head – Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences at IAG Cargo and Tony Wright, CEO of Exelsius said:  “We are both delighted to be able to announce the next in our series GDP Academy workshops.   As the regulatory requirements of GDP become ever more important, training is not only essential but also a vital step in the collaborative nature of the pharmaceutical and life sciences supply chain.

"This course will appeal to manufacturers, logistics service providers, forwarders airlines, ground handling companies and anyone else involved in the safe transportation of these products by air."

IAG Cargo has invested heavily in facilities, processes and systems to meet GDP requirements.
It has also undertaken a certificated training programme for its staff using Exelsius.
