IAG Cargo and Exelsius, the cold chain management consultancy, will hold their next Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Academy training workshop in Hyderabad, India, on September 29-30.
The GDP academy combines classroom training in the correct handling of temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products, with a ‘live’ visit to an airport airside area.
Students will witness the handling process at the Menzies Hyderabad Pharmaceutical Handling Centre as part of their certificated training.
In a joint statement, Alan Dorling, global head of pharmaceuticals & life sciences at IAG Cargo and Tony Wright, chief executive of Exelsius, said: “We are both delighted to be able to extend the GDP Academy to Hyderabad and to this important aspect of the Life Science world and continue our collaborative initiate to improve the level of education that is so vital to the safe transportation of these sensitive products.”
IAG Cargo, the freight arm of British Airways and Iberia, operates its Constant Climate service for pharmaceutical and life science products and has invested heavily in facilities, processes and systems to meet GDP requirements.
It has also undertaken a significant certificated training programme for its staff using Exelsius.
