Bollore to extend Europe-Africa cargo flights

Bollore Logistics operates WARA air service for airbridge Europe West Africa

Bollore Logistics is extending its special weekly cargo charter freight service between Europe and West Africa, the Wara Air Service, until the end of the month.

Over the last three months Bollore Logistics has operated two or three weekly all-cargo flights between Liege and Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle to Abidjan, Bamako, Accra, Freetown, Ouagadougou, Conakry, Niamey, Monrovia and Nouakchott.

The logistics firm said it originally launched the flights in response to capacity reductions linked to the coronavirus outbreak.

Since the introduction of transport restrictions, some 30 flights have already ensured the shipment of 1,800 tonnes of goods intended for humanitarian aid, health materials and equipment, medical and food products, spare parts, telecoms equipment and other daily consumer goods.

For example, over 100 tonnes of mangoes have been exported from Africa to Europe.

The logistics firm said it would also consider extending the services beyond July 31.
