Aircraft Finance Germany (AFG) subsidiary AFG Aviation Ireland Limited has acquired an Airbus A330-200 that will be converted into a freighter by Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW).

The MSN 926 aircraft was acquired from a subsidiary of French shipping giant CMA CGM on July 11, said Frankfurt-based global aircraft trading firm, AFG.

The aircraft will shortly be transported to Teruel Airport in Spain for storage while it awaits conversion with EFW.

AFG‘s Peter Koster, head of freighter lease and trading, commented: “We are very pleased with our acquisition of this strong asset from CMA CGM. We are bullish regarding the long-term outlook for the airfreight industry and this aircraft will perform nicely post-conversion as a full freighter.”

AFG is an aircraft trading company that works closely with airline operators, manufactures, banks and financial institutions globally in the areas of aircraft acquisitions and sales, structuring of long-term aircraft leases and financing, aircraft ownership & asset management, and passenger to freighter conversion projects.
