Fighting fire with Precision

Oregon-based converter Precision Aircraft Solutions has gained an amendment to its type certificate to allow it to convert MD87 aircraft into aerial firefighting tankers, on behalf of its customer, Aero Air (trading as Erickson AeroTanker).
The aircraft will be used by the US Forest Service and other organisations to fight wildfires, said Precision president Gary Warner.
Precision and Erickson AeroTanker are sister companies within the Erickson Group.
