Serve Air expands its 737 freighter fleet

Serve Air has taken delivery of its second Boeing 737-800SF converted freighter from Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) as it continues to expand its cargo fleet.

All conversion related touch labour and maintenance on the aircraft (MSN 30517) was performed by authorised AEI conversion centre, Commercial Jet in Dothan, Alabama.

Serve Air is the first operator of the AEI B737-800SF freighter in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is planning to add another four of the aircraft in the coming years.

The airline is based in Kinshasa and is aiming to take advantage of a specific gap in the short-haul domestic freight transportation market.

The airline’s network in the country includes 27 destinations, including Goma and Lubumbashi.

According to PlaneSpotters.net, the carrier currently operates a fleet of seven Boeing aircraft: six 737-300Fs and one 737-800F.

The AEI converted 737-800SF freighter offers a maindeck payload of almost 24 tonnes and incorporates 11 full height 88” x 125” container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH.
