Calogi finds solution to Dubai air cargo chaos

BRINGING order and control to ground handling processes at congested airports – and thus helping to avoid peak time chaos and unnecessary delays and costs – has become a critical subject for some air cargo hubs.
At Dubai International Airport, for example, busy cargo times threaten disorder and bring stress at certain times of the day.
It’s why airfreight portal Calogi has re-launched its dock booking feature as part of its ground handling agency c-Bridge product. The system seamlessly connects forwarders and cargo terminals, enabling communication of workloads and helps pricing decisions, as well as improving resource allocation, saving time and money.
With the current cargo congestion constraints there, Calogi’s system simplifies processes, easing the flow of shipments. Agents are able to pre-book import or export docks, and receive priority service.
Cargo terminals usually identify off-peak, normal, or peak rates for each dock, and offer prices based on the current terminal workload or throughput.The same booking and pricing structure is also available for import collections.
“Calogi’s dock booking feature is an important response to the growth challenge. In the last month, Calogi processed over 3,500 export dock bookings for more than 6,000 tonnes of cargo – and feedback from the industry has been incredible and showcases the need for this technology,” adds the dnata manager.
