WFS scoops Lufthansa Cargo supplier award

The WFS team celebrate winning a Lufthansa Cargo supplier award

Lufthansa Cargo has awarded Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) with its ‘Best Cooperation Global’ supplier prize in recognition of the partnership between the two companies.

The award was presented to WFS’ CEO Craig Smyth at Lufthansa Cargo’s second annual Supplier Awards in Munich, which gathered service providers from all over the world.

As well as global awards, Lufthansa Cargo also recognised suppliers in its regional business areas, with WFS also earning its top accolades for ‘Best Performance Eastern & Northern Europe’ and ‘Best Performance South & South East Asia’.

Thomas Sonntag, Lufthansa Cargo Vice President for Procurement & Infrastructure, said: “With their expertise, infrastructure, motivation and commitment, our service providers are a vital component of our performance promise and make a lasting contribution to Lufthansa Cargo’s success. It is important that we strive for integrated supply chains based on flexibility and the intent to grow as well as global footprints with aligned processes and truly standardised systems. In creating a common understanding and openness, sharing similar values and trusting each other in key.”

Craig Smyth commented: “WFS is proud to serve Lufthansa Cargo and its customers at major stations across our global network because our organisations share the same global values and ambition. The airline has a longstanding reputation for the quality and efficiency of its cargo operations and WFS is one of the companies it has entrusted with consistently meeting its highest requirements for service, safety and security. These awards are, therefore, very meaningful to us and to our teams who work hard to meet Lufthansa Cargo’s expectations on a daily basis.”
