GSSA TAM Group has announced several senior appointments in line with its expansion ambitions in the Americas.

The company, which rebranded earlier this year and is opening a new office in Brazil, has appointed Fernando Garreton as vice president Americas and he will lead the group’s move into North, Central and South America.

Besides overseeing sales, services and operations in the region, he will also be a part of the Group’s core business development team.

He joined TAM Group in 2016 and has more than 25 years of experience in aviation, logistics, retail and B2B services industries in the US, Latin America and Asia

Alejandro Inga has been appointed assistant vice president Americas and will lead sales and marketing in the Americas.

Before joining TAM Group in 2022, he worked as a global executive with experience working in consumer goods and B2B companies worldwide.

Diego Burgo has been appointed sales manager, Midwest and South Territories. He joined TAM Group in mid-2022 to head commercial activities in the US Midwest and Texas.

He has more than 20 years of airfreight experience in North and South America, he held various management roles with major airlines and GSAs, from leading sales teams to revenue management and pricing.

The TAM Group said the appointments “mark a new chapter of growth”.

The company currently has 23 offices in 13 cities across eight countries, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, the US and Chile.

In August, the company announced it was changing its name from Tam Wing Kun Holdings to TAM Group and adding a new Brazil office.

The investments follow strong growth at the company last year as it registered a 47% year-on-year increase in volumes to 150,000 tonnes and handled 4,000 flights in six countries.
