ACL Airshop demonstrates new tech at ULD Care

ULD management specialist ACL Airshop is demonstrating its FindMyULD app at the annual ULD Care Conference in Montreal, which runs until September 19.

It is also featuring new technologies such as Bluetooth tracking and tracing and its ULD Control proprietary logistics programmes.

Jos Jacobsen, ACL Airshop’s managing director-global leasing and chief technology officer, said: “We have all arrived at a new era for real-time air cargo visibility. Tracking ULDs and their contents in real-time not only can reduce costs, it helps answer shippers’ questions about where their goods are, and their status along the supply chain. We are seeing new ways to add value for our customers with these initiatives.”

ACL Airshop says it and its partner, CORE Transport Technologies have made good progress in introducing new technology.

ACL Airshop executive vice president for the Americas, Wes Tucker, said: “We are in actual implementation of Bluetooth, ULD Control, and FindMyULD with multiple airlines. Like most first adopters, we are continuously improving the service product as we go along. We will demonstrate FindMyULD for any airline clients attending ULD Care who wish to check it out – it’s intriguingly effective.”

ACL Airshop is also sponsoring the Women in ULD networking breakfast during the conference with ACL Airshop general manager at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport Halma Hodzic as the featured speaker.

Hodzic said: “IATA estimates that up to $475m in industry-wide savings is possible by better managing the movement of ULD’s. We want to help deliver those savings for our customers.”
