Egyptair Cargo has signed up Unilode to provide ULD management, repair and digital services.

The long-term deal covers the carrier’s ULD requirements for its freighter aircraft and the cargo-carrying capacity of its sister passenger airline.

Unilode will supply digitalised PMC and PAG pallets from its global pool to Egyptair Cargo, and provide access to its e-ULD app and customer dashboard to further enhance operational efficiencies and data analytics.

The ULD firm said that Egyptair Cargo operates one of the largest air cargo services in Africa. It flies to 100 destinations worldwide and is the second-largest carrier by fleet size in Africa.

Unilode chief executive officer Mohammed Akhlaq said: “We are delighted about Egyptair Cargo’s decision to enter into a long-term ULD management partnership with Unilode, which will strengthen our footprint in Africa.”

The company added that Egyptair Cargo was the latest in a series of recent wins, including Air India and Air New Zealand.

The Air India deal will see Unilode provide full ULD management and digitalised containers and pallets from its pool for the carrier’s fleet.

Unilode also recently announced a contract renewal with freighter operator Cargolux. The airline first awarded the management of its ULD fleet to Unilode in 2009
