Transporting goods via air cargo is vital to the global economy, connecting businesses and communities worldwide. IAG Cargo is a company that is trusted to deliver, working behind the scenes to ensure the timely and safe delivery of everything from life-saving pharmaceuticals to the latest technological advancements.

IAG Cargo was created in 2011 following the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo, bringing together two distinct brands focused on providing a quality service for cargo customers to unlock the full potential of their networks.

Since then, IAG Cargo has become one of the largest cargo operators in the world, serving key sectors of the global economy including e-commerce, tech, manufacturing, automotive and pharmaceutical to more than 60 countries around the world with a combined workforce of 2,250 people globally. In fact, from its strategically placed global hubs in London, Madrid, Dublin and Barcelona, the business has a fleet of over 500 aircraft, serving 250 destinations worldwide with over 12,000 flights per week.

Delivering Positive Change, One Shipment at a Time

Whether it’s to keep supermarket shelves stocked, delivering ballot papers for elections, supporting the movement of aid following a humanitarian crisis, keeping the automobile production line on schedule, or transporting biological materials like stem cells for research and medical treatments, IAG Cargo is able to act swiftly in time of need.

The air cargo industry plays a role far beyond logistics; it’s about delivering goods that positively impact society and keep the global economy turning. From the freshest fruit to cutting-edge technology and life-saving drugs, IAG Cargo is trusted to deliver it all, year-round.

Trust Built on Expertise and a Customer-Centric Approach

IAG Cargo is trusted by thousands of businesses worldwide to deliver what truly matters. Its dedicated teams act as true extensions of its customers’ operations, forming reliable partnerships across the global logistics landscape. Together, through collaboration, the business provides bespoke, tailored solutions to meet customers’ unique needs in an ever-changing world.

The business is laser focused on digital transformation, evident in its user-friendly online platforms, providing customers with real-time tracking information and streamlined booking processes. This commitment to technological advancement ensures that IAG Cargo remains at the forefront of the industry, constantly adapting to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

One area where this is particularly evident is with the company’s Constant Climate product, which is a state-of-the-art cold chain solution that caters specifically to the transportation of pharmaceuticals, such as vaccines, biotech products, diagnostics samples, or any other temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical material.

To support the demand of pharmaceutical goods transported globally, the business’s state-of-the art facility at London Heathrow features a cutting-edge Constant Climate Quality Centre (CCQC) for pharmaceuticals, with 29 dedicated cool cells and temperature facilities available from +2°C to +8°C (COL), +15°C to +25°C (CRT) and -20°C (FRO) ensuring sensitive shipments are held in a temperature-controlled environment at all times.

Looking Ahead: A Future of Sustainable Growth and Global Connectivity

As IAG Cargo looks to the future, its commitment to positive impact remains at the forefront of its vision. The company is actively pursuing sustainable practices, minimising its environmental footprint while maximising its positive contribution to the world.

In fact, IAG Cargo recently completed a transition from Diesel to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) for its 160-strong ground vehicle fleet at London Heathrow. HVO is a drop-in replacement for White Diesel, made from plant waste and from fully renewable materials, meaning that it has a significant impact on net carbon emissions. For IAG Cargo, this transition will reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% and overall, Scope 1 emissions by approximately 50%.
