Cathay chooses CHAMP

Cathay Pacific has selected CHAMP Cargosystems (CCS) to provide the Hong Kong-based carrier’s new cargo IT platform after a six-month design phase.
John Johnston, chief executive of CCS, commented: “We are delighted to partner with Cathay Pacific to further its ambitions in the air logistics market.”
James Fernandez, CCS vice president for global commercial operations stated: “Throughout the analysis and design phase of the programme CHAMP has demonstrated its blend of industry and IT capabilities to Cathay Pacific and this has culminated in our successful selection to complete the project.”
James Woodrow, director cargo of Cathay Pacific Airways, says: “The new technology will support the continued growth of our airline and help to meet the expanding expectations of our cargo customers.
“The changeover to the new technology will replace our in-house system which was introduced in 1980s and will ensure that Cathay Pacific Cargo continues to improve customer service levels, efficiency and productivity.”
