Wisskirchen opts for ECHOS in Cologne

Wisskirchen Handling Services is to start using logistics IT provider  topsystem’s Electronic Cargo Handling & Operations System (ECHOS) at its multifunctional cargo centre at Cologne/Bonn Airport from June 2018.
“Wisskirchen opted for ECHOS in a bid to improve client connectivity, make our quality more measurable and verifiable, and enhance efficiency through increasing automation and eliminating the use of paper,” said Wisskirchen managing director Oliver Hellwig.
topsystem said that the modular, web-based airfreight handling system is paperless and covers the entire chain of airside and landside processes, including cargo management, with all information sent in real time for further processing via ECHOS.
Any discrepancies in documentation result in instant alerts, enabling swift action. Using ECHOS, employees are able to monitor and manage stock movement within the cargo processing area on mobile devices, while also going through checklists for the handling of hazardous goods.
The system also features an integrated resource planning and management program that optimises the deployment of staff.
Wisskirchen will also implement mECHOS, the system’s mobile app, at its Cologne cargo facility. The app guides employees through their workflow and eliminates paper documents. topsystem added that mECHOS will also help to reduce error rates in the handler’s warehouse.
Wisskirchen is also planning to deploy the software elsewhere in Germany.
Germany-based topsystem has been developing process optimisation systems for the aviation and logistics sectors since 1995.
