AA Cargo strengthens Central America sales with new GSSA

AMERICAN Airlines Cargo has strengthened its sales offering in Central America with the appointment of a single GSSA – FlyUs – across the region.
With immediate effect FlyUs is responsible for cargo sales on behalf of American Airlines across eight cities in seven countries.
A dedicated team of sales executives is led by managing director Carlo de Haas, who has had a successful, long-standing relationship with AA Cargo in Europe over the past decade.
FlyUs’ central American operation is headquartered in San Jose, Costa Rica, from where a business centre has been established in order to serve customer needs throughout the region, six days a week.
The other cities where sales executives are located are: Guatemala City (GUA), Belize City (BLZ), San Pedro Sula (TGU) and Tegucigalpa (TGU) in Honduras, San Salvador (SAL), Managua (MGA) and Panama City (PTY).“I’m very excited about our appointment by AA Cargo in this fast developing region," says de Haas.
"With multiple products [on offer], we can sell on 140 flights per week from eight cities and we have all tools to serve the airfreight industry and give customers what they value most," he adds.
There is big potential for export cargo business from all locations in the FlyUs portfolio, but especially from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama, he notes.
Speaking about the new arrangement, Carmen Taylor, AA Cargo’s managing director of cargo sales for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America, says: "Driving forward our sales in the region is top of the agenda and we are confident that Carlo and his highly experienced team can achieve great things for us in all seven countries."
