AF-KLM sells freighters to FedEx

AS part of its plan to cut back its all-cargo operations, Air France-KLM is set to sell two 777 freighters to FedEx.“This sale is in line with the current slump within the global air cargo industry,” the carrier said in a statement.Air France Cargo currently operates two 777-200ER and three 747-400ER freighters. It’s remaining two 747-400s have been leased to AirBridgeCargo and a third is to be chartered in March.In January, Air France Cargo’s traffic rose two per cent on 11.4 per cent lower capacity. This increased the load factor by 8.5 per cent to 64.3.
