AIR Cargo News is launching a scholarship to support students who want to pursue a career in the air cargo industry.
The Air Cargo News Scholarship is a joint venture between the publication and the UK’s Cranfield University, an internationally renowned provider of aviation postgraduate studies.
Under the scheme, Air Cargo News will contribute £5,000 towards the student’s one-year course fees.
Nigel Tomkins, Air Cargo News’ managing director, explains: “At the annual Cargo Airline of the Year awards ceremony in London, we present a raffle which, in the past, has raised in the region of £5,000 a year.
“This sum has always been sent to a nominated charity such as Water Aid, Oxfam and Help for Heroes.
“Instead, we have decided to put this money back into the air cargo industry by creating an annuity scholarship aimed at air cargo studies.
“Meanwhile, people who contribute to our excellent raffle draw will feel they are investing in their own industry.
“This is the only such scholarship offered by a publication in air cargo.”
