Air France-KLM cargo dips

DURING the month of August cargo traffic was down 0.2 per cent from a year earlier with capacity up 2.8 per cent, leading to a 1.9 per cent decrease in the load factor to 62.5 per cent.

Unit revenue per available tonne kilometre excluding currencies slightly increased year-on-year.

In June AF-KLM and Martinair Cargo launched a new twice-weekly freighter run to Hanoi (Vietnam) importing general cargo, bringing mainly electronic equipments and hi-tech goods on the return leg.

The two carriers also began operating a fifth freighter flight to Mexico City (Mexico) on a 777F from Paris (France) to Mexico, and back to Paris via Chicago (US).
