Air France-KLM cargo stalls in Chinese New Year

NOT every New Year is a cause for celebration. Air France-KLM’s February 2011 cargo figures have taken a knock thanks in part to the Chinese New Year.

Traffic fell on routes in and around China due to the closure of factories and the subsequent progressive recovery of associated activity.

Traffic therefore declined by 3.1 per cent for capacity up by 1.5 per cent. The load factor stood at 67.6 per cent (-3.2 per cent). Unit revenue per available ton kilometre rose in comparison with February 2010.
