Air France-KLM to cut 3000 jobs

AIR France-KLM has confirmed that it is to cut between 2,500 and 3,000 jobs by March 2011.

To avoid mandatory layoffs of its 70,000 employees, the cuts will be made by not replacing retiring staff or renewing temporary contracts.

Three weeks ago, Air France-KLM reported an operating loss of about €200 million (US$265 million) for the financial year ending 31 March.
