Airfreight tackles oil spill

NATIONAL Airlines, a subsidiary of National Air Cargo (NAC), has expedited delivery of over 245 tons of dispersants to Louisiana (US) to help break up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
“The delivery of the oil spill dispersants is extremely time critical due to the heavy environmental cost of having it arrive later – the product itself has a ‘window of opportunity’ where it is most effective’” said Christopher Alf of NAC.
Since Saturday, six aircraft have picked up over 40 tons of dispersant each from Anchorage International Airport and delivered it directly to New Orleans International airport.
