Airport update – 15 February 2010

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) handled 212,623 tonnes of cargo in January, a year-on-year growth of 48.9 per cent. Export volume in January increased 52.3 per cent against last year to 115,297 tonnes while import volume for the month also showed a year-on-year growth of 64.6 per cent, with 60,293 tonnes registered. Transshipment tonnage in January recorded an increase of 21.7 per cent, with a total of 37,033 tonnes of cargo being handled.
 Munich Airport handled almost 216,000 tons of cargo in 2009, 11 per cent lower than in 2008. However, the quarterly figures show an upward trend from the 26 per cent plummet in the first quarter.
 Shenzhen Airport handled 58,300 tons of cargo and mail in January, a leap of 60 per cent.
