All go for Alitalia

ALITALIA has become the first European Union airline to restart its commercial passenger and cargo flights to and from Libya.

After an eight-month suspension, the carrier has resumed flights between Italy and the north African country torn by civil uprising.

The first flight left Rome Fiumicino airport on 2 November.

One month ago Alitalia reopened its commercial offices in Tripoli (Libya) and resumed the operation of its customer centre in the country.

The flight includes four weekly frequencies. Currently, flights are operated to and from Tripoli Mitiga aAirport, but in the next few days operations will shift to Tripoli International Airport.
