Amerer Air

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft announced that Amerer Air, Austria’s all-cargo carrier, is planned to become the first customer for the re-launched BAe 146QT (Quiet Trader) freighter programme.

Amerer Air is a private company, founded in 1995 by Captain Heinz Peter Amerer who is joint owner and chief executive officer.

The aircraft to be purchased by Amerer Air will be the first BAe 146QT conversion, a Series 200. It was converted recently at Aerostar in Bacau, Romania and made its first flight as a freighter to Southend on 25 June.

After delivery, the aircraft will be ferried to Amerer Air’s base at Linz in Austria before entering service. It is scheduled to be operated on behalf of the major integrator companies, as well as on ad-hoc freight charter work.

Amerer Air has created a major logistics centre at its Linz base.
