AMI takes on MMA

AMI has bought Johannesburg-based MMA Consolidators. MMA has been AMI’s service partner in South Africa for the past two years.

AMI senior vice-president, Peter Weir, said: “Becoming part of AMI was an appealing proposition for MMA, enabling it to achieve its ambition of providing global coverage for its customers. For our company as a whole, this acquisition further consolidates our position as the global leader in our field, and gives us a much higher profile in a country that was one of AMI’s original three markets going right back to 1978. It provides us with the perfect springboard for further growth and expansion throughout the African continent.”

Todd, added: “We see this sale as a very positive step, upgrading our relationship with AMI from simple agency agreement to wholly-owned member of the group. The benefits that will accrue from this are vast and, very soon, these will flow through our client base throughout South Africa. Our two companies are very similar both in product offering and culture, which will help to make the transition a seamless one.”
