AMI’s new click2ship service in Australia

AMI, which claims to be the world’s largest trade-only airfreight and express wholesaler, has launched its click2ship service in Australia, after a successful three-month pilot.
First launched in the UK in 2010, click2ship customers can obtain all-inclusive cargo quotes online, easily convert these to bookings, arrange collection, then track their shipments to destination.
They can also optionally deliver shipments to an AMI receiving centre, and arrange insurance cover.
AMI click2ship Australia provides door-to-door services to and from any destination worldwide, using major integrator services. The service accepts any item from envelopes and small packets up to 30 kilo pieces, and there is no limit to shipment size, says a statement.
Shipping of items which exceed click2ship piece weight limits can be initiated online, and then handled through AMI’s conventional cargo carrier channels.
Sonya Ashcroft, head of click2ship, Oceania, states: “The initial take up has been extremely positive, and AMI is responding by adding further resources to accommodate the rapidly growing traffic flows.”
The service is considered to be a revolutionary concept for Australia. It offers an integrator-style, premium express door-door service that’s available exclusively to freight forwarders and courier companies.
“Our customers can access the system while they are visiting their own clients, and produce instant quotes or advise on shipment status,” she adds.
AMI is now gearing up to launch click2ship in New Zealand later this month.
