Argentina air cargo expansion

CHAPMAN Freeborn has launched its second office in South America off the back of growing trade.
The global aircraft charter specialist’s new Buenos Aires, Argentina offices will be headed by business development director Nicolas Caleri, who will oversee cargo charter operations and the development of the company’s on board courier (OBC) services for time-sensitive shipments.
The company’s move into the Argentinian market follows the successful establishment of an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2008 – “making it the first international charter company to establish an operation in South America” according to bosses.
Caleri has nearly a decade of experience in the air cargo industry and returns to his native Argentina after a successful period working for Chapman Freeborn in Spain.
Working in close cooperation with the company’s team in Brazil and the US hub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Caleri will use his local market expertise to target further growth in Argentina and the Southern Cone countries of Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
He says: “We have been working with charter clients in Argentina for a number of years and in response to increased demand the time was right for us to underline our commitment to this growing market.”
Chapman Freeborn’s newly-launched team in Argentina is already managing its first cargo charter operations – ranging from shipments of sensitive printing equipment to 100 polo ponies, which were accompanied by grooms and vets to further ensure their safety and well-being.
