B747-8F turning into a reality

BOEING has released the first set of design plans for its 747-8 freighter to factories and suppliers so the manufacture of components can get underway.

Delivery of the first 747-8F is expected to begin late next year. Cargolux and Nippon Cargo Airlines are the first customers for the new aircraft.

Boeing said it is still completing the remaining design work, but did not say which parts of the plans it released or when the remainder would be provided.
