BAEs 146 freighter conversion readied for first flight

THE first BAe 146-200QT (Quiet Trader) conversion at Aerostar’s Bacau facility in Romania, is close to completion.

The work is on schedule and after maintenance work has been finalised, is being offered for customer delivery in early July.

Market interest in this aircraft and also in the West Air Sweden Series 200QT that is being marketed by Regional Aircraft, has increased substantially in recent weeks and the business is confident that it will place one or both freighters with customers imminently.

The Large Freight Door was offered up to the fuselage in the first week of April, to allow the door aperture to be finally completed to the door profile.

This was followed by the lowering of the aircraft on to its undercarriage several days later to ease the door fitting process.
