BDP International acquires majority share of Sweden’s Polar Logistics

BDP International (BDP), a USA-based privately-owned global logistics and transportation company, has taken a majority ownership in Sweden’s Polar Logistics, a member of its global network.
Based at Stockholm, the resulting joint venture will operate as BDP International Sweden under its current management team led by Slava Caisin.
“Given the strength of the Scandinavian economies, particularly export-oriented Sweden, it was imperative to reinforce our presence in the region,” says H Timothy Bolte, BDP’s chief venture officer.
“Sweden’s GDP, Scandinavia’s largest, continues to outpace forecasts, growing twice as fast as predicted through the first quarter of this year,” he adds.
In addition to Sweden, BDP has global network affiliates in Denmark, Norway and Finland, providing global air and ocean forwarding, import/export customs clearance, inland haulage and door delivery, project logistics and transit services, as well as warehousing and distribution, assembly and packaging, logistics process analysis and administration, on-line information tools and systems applications, and global supply chain management.
Polar Logistics’ Caisin says: “We’re extremely excited about this new venture, which will have us working even more closely with BDP, an exceptionally strong brand in global logistics.”
Polar provides a broad range of transport and freight services. It operates warehousing/consolidation facilities at Arlanda airport and at the ports of Stockholm and Gothenburg, the country’s key transport centres.
