Budapest latest on list of closed airports

THE latest in a long run of airport disruptions around the world is happening at Budapest in Hungary. A strike of workers at Budapest’s Ferihegy International Airport is now entering its fifth day.
However, unlike Bangkok, there have been few delays as the two workers’ unions are working with the airport’s management to prevent widespread interference to scheduled services as much as possible. So far Hungarian airline Malév has cancelled 12 flights and Alitalia only one.
“Budapest Airport expects that, albeit with delays, all (other) flights will be able to take off,” said an airport spokesperson.
