Camair cements GSA contract

THE Republic of Cameroon’s new national airline Camair has signed ECS Group’s subsidiary EFIS AIR as its cargo general sales agency.

Camair launched operations at the end of March with a 767-300 passenger and cargo service linking Douala (Cameroon), Yaounde (Cameroon) and Paris (France). The aircraft offers up to 15 tonnes of cargo capacity and operates five days a week on the route. This will increase to six flights a week in June.

“We have already identified cargoes of medical equipment and products, telecommunications equipment and perishables shipments thanks to our large network and strong expertise in the African and Cameroon markets,” Adrien Thominet (pictured), ECS Group’s senior vice-president, sales and marketing, said. “We have also created a number of important bilateral interline agreements with other carriers to ensure we maximise the flight connections and revenue generation opportunities for Camair, notably from the US, Asia and Middle East.”

Camair plans to extend its network this winter with new flights from Douala to Dubai (UAE) and Guangzhou (China).
